Family Literacy Night

Bloomingdale Elementary was pleased to welcome about 80 students and their families to Family Literacy Night on Tuesday, March 21st.  The event was hosted by Mrs. Bloomfield, teachers and staff.  It was truly a group effort as hosts selected their favorite books and fun activities to share.

Attendees had 9 different books and activities to choose from.  Session choices ranged from CURIOUS GEORGE GOES CAMPING where students enjoyed listening to a story by a “campfire,” making “s’mores” snacks, and playing tic tac toe with sticks, rocks and pinecones to making beautiful hats with PINKALICIOUS AND THE PINK HAT PARADE to creating swords made from pool noodles in TURTLES: ALIEN ATTACK.

The families attended two sessions of their choosing, with a break in between to enjoy cookies and punch and choose a free book to take home with them.

The evening was enjoyed equally by parents, teachers, staff and students!
