Important Information for New Students in the Secondary Building

  1. Students enrolling in the sixth, seventh, eighth grades should bring their final report card from their previous school for the previous school year. No appointments with the counselor are necessary.
  2. Students enrolling in the ninth, tenth, eleventh and twelfth grades should bring a transcript from their previous school showing all previous high school courses completed. Annette Maxwell – Middle and High School Assistant Principal

Annette Maxwell was recently hired as the Assistant Principal for Intervention and Student Services at Bloomingdale Middle and High School. Ms. Maxwell replaces Melissa Corona, who moved into the Pullman Elementary principal position over the summer.

Ms. Maxwell earned Master Degrees in both Counseling and Education from Central Michigan University. She comes to Bloomingdale from the Detroit Leadership Academy, where she worked for one year as the School Culture Coordinator at the middle school level. Prior to last year, she worked ...

Parent-Teacher Advisory Conferences for Middle and High School Students

Parent-Student-Advisory Teacher Conferences will take place again this year at the Middle and High School in lieu of an Open House. These mandatory conferences will be held on August 29 and 30. Parents/Guardians of all Bloomingdale 6th-12th grade students must schedule an appointment with their child’s advisory teacher for one of these days. Informational letters will be mailed out to all parents/guardians prior to August 15 containing the necessary information for scheduling. List of Needed Items:

  • 1 – Package of highlighters (yellow, pink, green, blue)
  • 1 – Package of colored pencils
  • 1 – Pencil sharpener with shaving catcher
  • Composition Notebook (1 for 7th grade English and 2 for 8th grade English)
  • Loose notebook paper*
  • Pencils & pens*

Film Festival

On May 25th, 2017 the audience start filling up for the highly anticipated 2017 Film Festival. Be The Change Fun Day

Fun Day was held on Friday, May 12. This was an incentive activity planned for all students that had 30 Be the Change tickets and were off the ZAP list. All students received 30 Be the Change tickets at the beginning of the school year. Celebrating Musical Success!

The Bloomingdale Band Program is celebrating an exceptionally successful school year!  Back in December, five of our 8th Grade Band students participated in the Michigan School Band and Orchestra (MSBOA) District 6 Middle School Solo and Ensemble Competition.  These students selected a piece of music, practiced it largely outside of the school day, rehearsed with a piano accompanist, and then gave up their Saturday to perform for an adjudicator and receive comments and a rating.  Of the five events that ...

FIRST Robotics Team

This year Bloomingdale Middle and High School started a FIRST Robotics team.  FIRST stands for “For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology.” Our team name is CARDINAL.EXE and our team number is TEAM 6589. The team was made up of 10 high school students who spent six weeks building a robot to compete in two competitions.  At the Lakeview competition in Battle Creek on March 2nd-4th, the team finished 14th out of 40 teams.
