Parent-Teacher Advisory Conferences for Middle and High School Students

Parent-Student-Advisory Teacher Conferences will take place again this year at the Middle and High School in lieu of an Open House. These mandatory conferences will be held on August 30th and 31st. Parents/Guardians of all Bloomingdale 6th-12th grade students must schedule an appointment for August 30 and 31. The Musical Annie Jr

A hearty congratulations to the cast and crew for a job well done on Bloomingdale High School’s production of the musical Annie Jr. The curtain went up on the set of an orphanage, and soon the audience was wrapped up in Annie’s hilarious and heart-warming adventure into finding her real parents. VFW – Voice of Democracy Essay Contest

In the fall of 2015, several students from Bloomingdale Middle and High School submitted essays to the VFW’s Voice of Democracy essay contest. Since 1947, the Voice of Democracy has been the Veterans of Foreign Wars’ (VFW’s) premier scholarship program. Each year, almost 40,000 high school students compete for more than $2 million in scholarships and incentives. Students compete by writing and recording an audio essay on an annual patriotic theme.

Our 9th Graders are CPR/AED Certified

All of the 9th Graders at Bloomingdale High School have had the opportunity to be CPR/AED certified. As a part of the 9th Grade Health Class each student learned the basics of CPR and AED. After the successful completion of the two day training each student received their certification cards.

VEX Robotics provides excellent robotic kits and is currently offering a fantastic matching grant opportunity for the purchase of their kits.  This package provides us with over $1000 in free robotics equipment and software and an opportunity to send two teams to an event.

Rainbow Lanes Prom Fundraiser

On January 18th, 2015 the Junior Class is sponsoring an afternoon of bowling at Rainbow Lanes in Paw Paw from 1pm to 3pm. The Prom Committee will be selling tickets all week that are $10.00. Meyer Music Honors Band

On Saturday, November 22, Emily Fluty and Tamara Warden participated in the Meyer Music Honors Band, hosted by Caledonia High School. These students, nominated for
being exemplar musicians were then chosen by Meyer Music to participate and received the music for the concert, which they prepared on their own time. University Band Days

Ten members of the Bloomingdale Marching Band participated in GVSU’s Band Day and WMU’s Band Day on Saturday, November 8, and Saturday, November 15, respectively.
These students, along with several hundred, area high school students joined the Laker and Bronco Marching Bands to put on exciting halftime performances after having rehearsed all morning with each ensemble. Despite cold, rainy, and snowy weather, all of the Bloomingdale students expressed that they had a wonderful time!
