Student-Principal Advisory Team

On Wednesday, September 14, approximately 50 Bloomingdale Middle and High School students traveled to the Breslin Center on the campus of Michigan State University in order to participate in the 2016 Josten’s Renaissance Back-To-School Tour rally. While at the Breslin Center, the students listened as two featured speakers shared their personal stories and thoughts regarding how students can assume ownership in their schools and lives and create positive change on both a small and large scale.

Pullman Recess Mileage Club

Pullman Elementary started a Recess Mileage Club to establish a form of structured play during 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade recesses.  We have approximately 40 2nd and 3rd graders as well as 40 4th and 5th graders participating.  They walk around our playground/soccer field and receive a popsicle stick for every lap they walk.  Each lap is a quarter mile long.  For every 5 miles they walk they will receive a miniature plastic foot that goes onto their shoelace and a punch ...

Pullman Rocks!

Second grade students from Pullman Elementary enjoyed learning about their community during a field trip to the Pullman museum and Pizza Plus.  At the museum, Ms. Laraway and Mr. Bale shared items from Pullman that helped students learn about the history of our community.  The building itself was the old gas station in 1925 and the original sign is in the building!  Students participated in a scavenger hunt and found a license plate from 1918, an old oak filing cabinet, ...

Pullman Elementary Student Council 2016-2017

Last week Pullman Elementary held an election for their Student Council Representatives.  These representatives are responsible for raising and lowering the flag, helping with various activities around the school, sponsoring movie afternoons during the school year, and holding fundraisers to purchase needed items that will benefit everyone here at Pullman Elementary.

Introducing Russ Lardie

Bloomingdale Elementary is thrilled to welcome Russ Lardie as the new Physical Education teacher. Mr. Lardie graduated from Western Michigan University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Health and Physical Education. He also has his Masters of Arts in Adapted Physical Education.  He has experience as a Health and PE teacher and has worked in Baltimore and Benton Harbor.  He is friendly, articulate, and passionate about creating healthy environments for students.  He will be teaching one section at the middle ...

Jog-A-Thon 2016

Mini-Society Fun

The fourth grade classes at Bloomingdale Elementary have been learning about how money flows through a society (economic principles) by making their own products and creating their own businesses.
