2009-2010 Transportation
If your address has changed and you need transportation beginning on the first day of school, September 8th, then a transportation request form needs to be turned into the office of the school that your student attends no later than June 12, 2009. If your student is new to the district and needs transportation beginning on the first day of school, a transportation request form needs to be turned into the office of the school that your student attends no later than September 1, 2009. Any forms we receive after that date will require the students to wait three working days before receiving transportation.

SUPERINTENDENT’S MESSAGE
It is hard to believe that we are only two weeks away from all of our students heading home for the summer and one week away from our 2009 seniors graduating! I want to thank everyone for another terrific school year! The work that everyone completed this year is to be commended. While we face many obstacles and hurdles in the next several years, Bloomingdale Public Schools has some academic accomplishments that it wants to share with you and we hope that you will celebrate these accomplishments with us. The State of Michigan uses a system to evaluate schools and this accountability system is called Education Yes! There are two main categories to this report: 1.) they determine whether the building met adequate yearly progress (AYP) and 2.) it assigns a letter grade A through F to the building. Should you wish to view the details of how the formulas are developed, you can find it at www.michigan.gov/mde. However, at this time the reports are complete and I want to report them to you:
Building AYP Status Grade
BLOOMINGDALE ELEMENTARY MET AYP A
PULLMAN ELEMENTARY MET AYP B
BLOOMINGDALE MIDDLE SCHOOL MET AYP B
While this system is not a perfect manner in which to evaluate schools, it does enlighten us to the efforts that are going on in the building to promote the highest learning possible. I believe these accomplishments and grades truly show that our staff is caring and actively involved in investigating best practice and research in order to provide the best education possible. I hope that you will join us in celebrating these accomplishments.
Again, thank you for a terrific 2008-2009 school year!
