Technology Literacy Challenge Grant
Bloomingdale Schools has received the Technology Literacy
Challenge Grant for the year 2000-2001. The value of the grant
this year was $75,000.
The goal of this year's grant is to train all teachers to:
- Use the Internet for Instruction
- Use the local network to collaborate
- Create simple web pages
- Post those web pages to the district Intranet
- Create lesson plans involving the Internet
In addition, a laptop would be purchased for each technology
leader to use with his/her team for training and lesson development.
Two Smartboards also are to be purchased so that each building
will now have one.
A webserver is to be purchased to host the web pages which
teachers construct.
Web development software and conferencing software will be
purchased to round out the project.
