We are pleased to welcome, Miss Lindsay Smith, as our new special education teacher. She will be taking on the roles and responsibilities with the departure of Miss Knevitt.
Miss Smith graduated from Western Michigan University with a BA in Political Science and Education and earned a Master’s of Education in Special Education from Calvin College. Miss Smith started her teaching career in the Crawford-AuSable School District in Grayling, Michigan where she taught Special Education and Social Studies for five years before taking a position in Kalamazoo Public Schools. At KPS, Miss Smith taught a self-contained special education classroom. Most recently, Miss Smith went abroad to experience the educational system at a school in Ghana, but unforeseen circumstances brought her back to the states and ultimately to Pullman Elementary.
Miss Smith started last week and worked alongside Miss Overbeek to acclimate herself to Pullman Elementary and looks forward to working with her students to assist them in reaching their academic and social goals. If you have any questions, please, do not hesitate to ask.
