The fourth grade classes at Bloomingdale Elementary have been learning about how money flows through a society (economic principles) by making their own products and creating their own businesses. This annual event has included some very creative business ideas. We have had a marshmallow launching shop, duct tape wallets, B and I Industries, a Disney Art shop, a glitter bottle shop, a marshmallow target store, a Dragon Puppet shop and many more. The students have been using strategies with supply and demand, budgeting, and scarcity to improve their business practices. Additionally, students have learned about Henry Ford and the assembly line, as well as the three types of resources (capital, human, and natural). “Mini Society is great for learning how business works,” remarked Loucas G. Great job, fourth graders!
